Arrange a small color study
Lay out a few yarn colors on plain paper and photograph them together. Make a second arrangement by changing one color or its position. Keep the photographs beside any woven sample so you can compare an arrangement with its finished appearance.
Keep the finished note with its date and source material. Return to it when you repeat the exercise, and add what changed rather than replacing the earlier observation.
